Richard K. Lowy is currently in Poland for a series of talks and events about his multi-award-winning book, Kalman & Leopold: Surviving Mengele’s Auschwitz, recently published in the UK by Lemon Soul Publishing.
The first stop on Richard’s visit was an interview with Małgorzata Grygiel at the Pilecki Institute (Instytut Pileckiego) in Warsaw. Named after Captain Witold Pilecki, the Polish resistance hero who voluntarily entered Auschwitz to expose its horrors to the world, the Pilecki Institute is one of Poland’s leading centres for historical research, remembrance and education.
