Escape from Allach Karlsfeld

Ivor and Alec were transferred to Allach Karlsfeld Slave Labour camp.
In the film there is a scene whereby Allied aircraft bombed the camp leaving a gap in the fence.

Describe what happened and how Ivor and Alec eventually managed to escape.

Extension Activity

The boys found refuge in a house and prepared a meal before being discovered by American troops. How did this compromise their kosher upbringing?

What insight does this give you into the boys’ character, but also how does the film describe the feelings of the soldiers?
