The Synagogues of Mako

There were three Synagogues in Mako – Very Orthodox, Orthodox and Reform. Ivor would have gone to the Very Orthodox Synagogue.

What are the main differences in liturgy, layout and experiences for congregants between each of these types of Synagogues and why do you think Ivor was reprimanded for being near the Reform Synagogue?
